The El Sosiego La Pataia dairy farm in Uruguay produces cow milk, gota milk and cheese … as well as some great jazz every January. From Jan, 4-7, the likes of Nicholas Payton, Claudio Roditi, Kenny Garret, Kenny Barron, Johnny Griffin, Cedar Walton and Paquito D'Rivera, the festival's musical director, will be among the jazz stars at the sixth annual Jazz En El Tambo festival, one of the most unique jazz events on the jazz festival circuit in its rural setting. The festival “aims to be a cultural event for tourists, while promoting jazz to regional audiences”, says festival director Francisco Yobino.
